Don Cooper,
the owner and operator of Don Cooper Custom Exteriors Inc. met with
Howard Wasserman, the President and CEO of Nailite,
Angel Toter, the Director of Marketing for Nailite
and Lou Rose, the owner and operator of Lou Rose Productions recently
to arrange the production of videos and photography in the Portside
Village development in Carolina Beach, North Carolina. Nailite
will use the photography and video taken in Portside to promote
their siding products all over the United States.
Nailite, which is based out of Miami, Florida has
been in business for 25 years and specializes in creating realistic
looking, cedar, brick and stone siding. They offer seven alternatives
to real cedar, brick and stone: Hand-Split Shake, RoughSawn Cedar,
Perfection-Plus Cedar, Scalloped Perfection, Cape Cod Perfection EZ,
Hand-Laid Brick and Hand-Cut Stone. "We offer a high end product,
that is a good investment and we stand 100% behind our product,"
stated Howard Wasserman. "Our product is less expensive that
the materials it would require to use actual cedar, brick or stone
and it is less expensive to install."
"Nailite brought the technology of injection molding to the
building materials industry through its introduction of high-definition
polypropylene siding panels. Nailite is the originator
and leader of the high-end, specialty siding market. In fact, its
expertise comes from a commitment to concentrate on only one thing
.
the realistic-look afforded by injection molding and a proprietary
coating process."
"Don (Cooper) is one of the biggest spokesmen and salesman
of Nailite compared to contractors and builders we work with all
over the world. He is part of a small group of contractors that
I meet with on a regular basis to help me figure out what sells,
what customers want," stated Howard. "He has been so effective
that Portside (in Carolina Beach, North Carolina) has all 14 colors
of our RoughSawn Cedar product."
"Nailites dramatic-looking RoughSawn Cedar panels feature
rugged, distinctive etchings that rival real wood. RoughSawn Cedar
combines the outstanding performance and durability of Nailite with
a look so real youll be tempted to pick at the splinters."
RoughSawn Cedar comes in Canary Yellow, Desert Sand, Khaki, Classic
White, Eggshell, Ashwood Gray, Slate Gray, Desert Clay, Antique
Gray, Sunset Cedar, Harvest Cedar, Barn Red, Forest Green and Denim
Blue.
All Nailite products are: made from Polypropylene, "these panels
are strong and durable, offering up to three times the thickness
of conventional siding;" "UV-treated panels resist the
harmful effects of the suns rays; resist the elements and
insects; individual matching corners complete the look; available
in a variety of colors; shaded colors available for an authentic
"weathered" appearance."
"The average life of our products is 20 years, depending on
the environmental conditions," stated Howard. "We have
a premium product in the siding business. The way we design it to
fit together makes for a more realistic look. We build our siding
to expand and contract with the changes in weather just like real
cedar does. Our biggest competitors are Certanted and Alcoa. They
are both huge companies but they dont specialize. This is
all we do. We are a small company, but we have dedicated ourselves
to creating the best product available."
"People are truly lucky that Don is here," stated Howard.
"He has a good sense of aesthetics and knows how to install
the product correctly. He has customers who ask him what color they
should use for their house." "I began working with Nailite
in 1995," stated Don. "90% of what I use in my remodeling
and new home construction is Nailite."
Don, who has been in the home exterior business for ten years worked
with Ken Coffer and Matt Murphy of SECOF Construction, who were
the developers for Portside Village. "SECOF is a four-year-old
partnership that brings 22 years of general construction and heavy
equipment operation to southeastern North Carolina," states
www.secofconstruction.com.
They are licensed in North Carolina, Virginia and South Carolina
and in addition to Portside Village; SECOF has played a role in
the building of both commercial and residential projects such as
the new Courtyard by Marriott in Carolina Beach, Masonboro Landing,
Bridgewater Bluffs, Island Station and more.
"The charm of a coastal fishing village has been re-created
at Portside Village. With it's covered porches, shady atmosphere,
and cool afternoon breezes; homeowners truly appreciate the overall
atmosphere of the neighborhood. Homes are custom built on a slab,
foundation, or pilings," states www.secofconstruction.com.
Don Cooper Custom Exteriors added the finishing touches to Portside
Village, which will be seen across the United States in Nailite
promotional material.
